Streb Set for PGA Championship

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Former Kansas State men’s golfer Robert Streb looks to continue his successful 2015 PGA Tour season this weekend when he takes part in the PGA Championship – the final major of the year – at Whistling Straits in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

Streb, who will tee off for the first round at 7:15 a.m. (CT), Thursday morning, enters the event with 13 top-25 finishes and eight top-10 showings this season. He has played in all four majors in 2015, improving in each one. After being cut following two rounds of The Masters, Streb tied for 42nd at the U.S. Open before tying for 18th at The Open Championship in Scotland last month.

A K-State letterwinner from 2006-09, Streb has played some of his best golf in July and August. Following the U.S. Open, he tied for second in The Greenbrier Classic and 14th at the John Deere Classic. Last weekend, Streb placed fifth at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational with a 6-under par 274.

Streb currently ranks fifth in the FedExCup standings with 2,198 points, while his official World Golf Ranking is 40th. Additionally, the Edmond, Oklahoma, product is in contention for the 2015 President’s Cup team as he is 12th in the President’s Cup point standings. The top 10 after the Deutsche Bank Championship (September 4-7) are automatically on the team, while captain Jay Haas will make two additional selections on September 8.

The PGA Championship will air all four days on TNT, beginning at 1 p.m. (CT) on Thursday and Friday as well as 10 a.m., to 1 p.m. (CT), on Saturday and Sunday. CBS will also show the final two rounds beginning at 1 p.m. (CT) each day.
