LUBBOCK, Texas - Junior opposite Bryna Vogel recorded a match-high 12 kills with just a single error to lead the Kansas State volleyball team to a sweep (25-18, 25-19, 25-20) of Big 12 rival Texas Tech Wednesday night at United Supermarkets Arena. The win is K-State’s fifth straight over TTU.

“All the hitters were rolling tonight,” said Vogel after the match. “[Texas Tech’s] blockers couldn’t key on any one of us so it really opened up seams for me and all of us.”

K-State (13-4, 2-2 Big 12) used a 9-3 run midway through the opening set before finishing off the game scoring seven of the final 10 points, earning a 25-18 win. Redshirt sophomore Kylee Zumach recorded five kills of her nine kills in the set and hit (.444), while outside hitter Brooke Sassin and Vogel tossed in four kills apiece.

Texas Tech (10-9, 0-4) was within a point at 19-18 late in the second set before the Wildcats, fueled by Sassin, ended the set on a 6-1 run. Sassin added five more kills in the set and would finish the match with 11.
