Volleyball Purple/White Scrimmage Set for August 20

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State volleyball will gear up for the start of its 2016 season by taking part in the Purple/White Scrimmage 7 p.m., Saturday, August 20 in Ahearn Field House.

The exhibition is free to all fans, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Fans will be able to purchase season tickets at the scrimmage as well as pick up team posters and schedules.

The Wildcats, who open the season on August 26 against Arizona in Hawaii, return 11 letterwinners from last year’s NCAA Tournament team. K-State is aiming for its third-straight trip to postseason play, which would be a first for the program since making 10 consecutive trips from 1996-2005.

K-State faces four straight 2015 NCAA Tournament participants to start its season, a group that includes Arizona, Hawaii, Wisconsin and Michigan. The match against the Wolverines on September 2 opens the Wildcats’ 15-match home schedule.

Single-match tickets are on sale now. This season features several exciting promotions including Craft and Draft night and four exclusive t-shirt ticket packages.

Season tickets for the home slate are available now and start at $2 per match. To purchase tickets, fans can visit www.kstatesports.com/tickets, call 1-800-221-CATS (2287), or stop by the K-State Athletics Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum.
