Wildcats Finish Up Day Two at SMU Invite

Dallas- The K-State women’s tennis team’s second day at the SMU Invite was highlighted by two doubles victories.

 Seniors Palma Juhasz and Maria Panaite picked up a doubles win over Tsveta Dimitrova/Sveva Mazzari of Houston, 7-6. The duo advances to play Angeles de los Rios/Valeria Lopez of UT-Arlington tomorrow in the consolation final. Panaite is stepping in for Carolina Costamagna who did not play due to illness.

 Notching another doubles win in the tournament was the team of Iva Bago and Livia Cirnu. They defeated Air Forces’ Elizabeth Barnickel/Nadeen Lieberman 6-4. Bago and Cirnu will play in their respected final Sunday where they will face Alex Bourguignon/Graciela Rosas of Gonzaga.

 A few Wildcats will wrap up their singles competition on Sunday. Cirnu will face Judit Vives of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Panaite will play Jocelle Rudico of Air Force, and Bago will take on Victoria Kareh of Incarnate World.

 In her singles match, sophomore Millie Stretton did not finish due to injury and will not compete the rest of the weekend.

 The Wildcats will wrap up play in Dallas Sunday starting with doubles matches taking place at 9 a.m.
