Wildcats Look to Continue Success in San Antonio

MANHATTAN, Kan. – After finishing in the top three in each of its last two tournaments, the Kansas State women’s golf team looks to continue its success in the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational, Sunday through Tuesday, at the par-72, 6,450-yard Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas.

The teams will play 18 holes each day beginning at 11 a.m., on Sunday. The second round on Monday will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the final round on Tuesday beginning at 8:45 a.m., with a shotgun start.

K-State will send five members of the team to compete in the event with Madison Talley, Chloe Weir, Paige Nelson, Katherine Gravel-Coursol and Connie Jaffrey making up the scoring lineup.

“The team is playing well and we are looking forward to Briggs Ranch,” said head coach Kristi Knight, whose team is coming off a third-place finish.

Jaffrey is coming off her second career individual victory and first of the season, shooting a season best 3-over par 219, last week at the Greenville Regional Preview. The Wildcats finished in third place with a three-round score of 50-over par 914.

The Wildcats played in this tournament once before when it was known as the Alamo Invitational in the Fall of 2010. They will be joined in this year’s event by Arkansas, Auburn, Houston, LSU, Mississippi State, Old Dominion, SMU, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas State, Tulane and UTSA.
