Women's Basketball to Host Camp in August

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State women’s basketball and head coach Jeff Mittie will host a Group Skill Instructional Camp during three sessions in August. The sessions are available to any and all participants entering grades 9-12 and is limited to the first 44 players to register.

The Group Skills Instructional Camp will take place at the Basketball Training Facility and will run from 4-7 p.m., on August 16, August 23 and August 30. The cost of the Group Skills Instructional Camp is $200 per player. To register online or by e-mail, visit www.jeffmittiebasketball.com. To ensure fairness in the registration process, no phone registrations will be accepted.

The Group Skills Instructional Camp is designed to get maximum repetition on the fundamentals and will utilize all of the training devices K-State players use including: Gun Shooting Machines, NOAH Shooting Trainer, 94Fifty Basketball Training Ball and more.

For the 2015-16 season, K-State returns eight letter winners from the 2014-15 squad. The Wildcats will be led into the 2015-16 season by 2015 All-Big 12 Second Team selection and Big 12 All-Defensive Team honoree Breanna Lewis (11.5 ppg, 6.4 rpg and 2.9 bpg), junior-to-be guard Kindred Wesemann (8.0 ppg, 2.6 apg) and senior-to-be guard Bri Craig (6.1 ppg, 2.3 rpg). Overall, K-State returns 61 percent of its scoring, 70 percent of its rebounding and 63 percent of its assists.

In addition to the returning letter winners, Kansas State welcomes in six newcomers for the 2015-16 season including: senior guard Megan Deines (Springfield, Missouri), sophomore Kaylee Page (Wamego, Kansas) and freshmen guards Kayla Goth (DeForest, Wisconsin), Anna Hammaker (Knoxville, Tennessee) and Lanie Page (Wamego, Kansas) and freshman center Cheyenne Hooper (Knoxville, Tennessee).
