FAN EXPERIENCE AND SALES GRADUATE ASSISTANT

K-State Athletics, home of the 2013 Big 12 men's basketball and baseball champions, the 2013 Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl champions and 13-straight sold-out football games, and a proud member of the Big 12 Conference, invites applications for Fan Experience and Sales Graduate Assistant. Opportunities and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: developing and implementing marketing and sales plans for assigned sports with a focus on increasing attendance and revenue, preparing all aspects of game-day production and promotions, maintaining all sponsorship trade, designing and editing promotional materials, training and supervising an intern staff of up to 30 students, planning and organizing special events, managing the Jr. Wildcat Club and executing ideas to increase membership, developing and implementing marketing plans for all eleven non-ticketed sports with a focus on increasing attendance and awareness, leading a team of outbound sales staff, designing and editing promotional materials including a weekly email newsletter, and managing all day-to-day office responsibilities including communication with fans.

K-State Athletics graduate assistants play an integral role in the award-winning Fan Experience and Sales office, which strives to create 'The Best Fan Experience in the Big 12 Conference.' Selected candidates will receive unparalleled experience and gain valuable skills needed to apply for entry-level full-time position upon completion of the two-year position.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, public relations or related field
- Minimum of one year of experience working in a collegiate athletic marketing office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with designing fliers and advertisements
- Commitment to two-year position

Compensation:
$15,600 annually paid biweekly (26 pay periods). Applicants selected for the position must then apply for and be accepted into the K-State graduate school. Assistants must be enrolled in a minimum of six graduate school hours in the fall and spring semesters. Tuition is not covered by the annual stipend, however, out-of-state applicants will receive in-state tuition rates.

OPERATIONS GRADUATE ASSISTANT

K-State Athletics, a Big 12 Conference member, is seeking motivated, hard-working candidates for the position of Athletics Operations Graduate Assistant beginning in August 2014. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, game-day management of athletics events, facility and event set-up, scheduling of public safety and EMS, as well as coordination of additional logistical needs for assigned sports.

K-State Athletics graduate assistants play an integral role in the Athletics Operations office. Selected candidates will receive unparalleled experience and gain valuable skills needed to apply for an entry-level full-time position upon completion of the two-year position.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and strong leadership capabilities. Applicant must be willing to work nights and weekends, as well as possess strong inter personal and organizational skills.

FACILITY CUSTODIAN

K-State Athletics is looking for applicants who want to become a member of our Wildcat athletics support staff. This position is a local agency, unclassified, full-time, hourly custodian position at a starting rate of $10.68/hour with paid overtime. Benefits include but are not limited to TIAA-CREF retirement benefits, and potential to earn up to 176 hours (22 days) of vacation leave and 96 hours (12 days) of sick leave annually. This is a working supervisor position that provides routine cleaning services and will also supervise a crew of students and/or part-time employees involved with daily cleaning and supportive custodial services for K-State Athletics facilities and events, which includes but is not limited to assuring quality control for a custodial crew performing daily cleaning and custodial and event support services for offices, restrooms, lobbies, locker rooms, and all daily and event use areas of various facilities of the KSU Sports Complex.

Required Qualifications
Experience operating various types of equipment that includes but is not limited to upright vacuums, auto floor scrubbers, ultra high speed burnishers, low speed buffers, pressure washers, wet/dry vacuums, carpet extractors, trucks and utility vehicles (gators); must have knowledge of a wide variety of cleaning chemicals, their uses/purposes, mixes and safety requirements; must be able to understand MSDS sheets for all chemicals to avoid injury to self, others and equipment; must be able to work without direct supervision and be able to be flexible as daily tasks may be interrupted by unexpected events being added to the day; must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English; and must be able to remove snow and ice from outside entryways. Other requirements: must be able to withstand moderate physical exertion to transport equipment, including items of considerable weight, unassisted, on a repetitive basis daily; be able to withstand the strain of working long hours at custodial tasks and work inside and outside under varying work and climatic conditions; must possess a valid driver’s license at all times and be available to work overtime in the evenings or on weekends as required.

Required Qualifications
Experience performing custodial tasks in a commercial setting requiring specific sanitation procedures, ability to read and follow directions on various types of equipment and cleaning chemicals, ability to write in English, learn the safe operation of a wide variety of commercial janitorial equipment, and ability to understand/follow explicit instructions in English.
