ASSISTANT WESTERN EQUESTRIAN COACH

A full-time, salaried, local agency position. Responsibilities include implementing and managing all phases of a NCAA Division I Equestrian Program in the Western discipline, which includes but is not limited to managing the majority of the administrative responsibilities for the equestrian team; coaching student-athletes in the Western discipline, including Reining and Horsemanship; recruitment of potential student-athletes; assist with practice schedules, and management and care of horses; and manage the organization and implementation of administrative duties necessary for home and away competitions and team travel needs. Position will also be responsible for promotions and community service projects, and any other responsibilities required in order to run a competitive NCAA Division I program.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; familiarity of equine industry and AQHA and NRHA rules; Reining and/or Horsemanship experience; provide evidence of successful equestrian coaching and/or teaching; have a strong commitment to the academic and athletic goals of the Equestrian Program, K-State Athletics and the University; must have a valid driver's license at all times, and be able to travel and work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of NCAA and Big 12 Conference rules and regulations. Experience with NCAA equestrian sport in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (formerly Varsity Equestrian) format.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT / ATHLETICS COMPLIANCE

K-State Athletics, a Big 12 Conference member, is seeking a motivated, hard-working individual for the position of Athletics Compliance Graduate Assistant beginning in August 2013. This position will be involved in all aspects of NCAA compliance duties, will work directly with all members of the compliance staff and report to the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, monitoring recruiting logs, assisting with NCAA rules education, processing student-athlete compliance forms, maintaining student-athlete files, review and monitor training table logs, assist with research for rules interpretations, waivers and violations, monitoring and updating data on the JumpForward monitoring system, managing the athletic book scholarship process, updating compliance forms, assist with football game-day responsibilities, and other duties as assigned. The individual in this position must be aware that all activities or actions shall uphold K-State’s core values and commitment to compliance with NCAA, Big 12 and K-State rules and regulations.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; strong interest in working in athletic compliance and/or administration as a career; excellent written and oral communication skills; strong self-starter; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Other Requirements:
Applicants selected for the position must apply for and be accepted into the K-State Graduate School. Graduate Assistants must be enrolled in a minimum of six graduate school hours in the fall and spring semesters. Tuition is not covered by the annual stipend; however, out-of-state applicants are eligible to receive in-state tuition rates. Applicant must be willing to work nights and weekends, as well as possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Background check required on selected candidate.

Salary:
$12,000 annually paid biweekly (26 pay periods).

GRADUATE ASSISTANT / FOOTBALL VIDEO SERVICES

K-State Athletics - Football, a Big 12 Conference member, is seeking a motivated, hard-working individual for the position of Football Video Graduate Assistant beginning in August 2013. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting in the acquisition, editing and distribution of videotaped practice materials and the management of the XOS Thunder Video Network and aid in lending technical support to the players and coaching staff of the XOS Thunder video coaching station and its tools. In addition, the graduate assistant will assist the department with creative print and digital media.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. Must have strong computer and oral communication skills; be knowledgeable in non-linear video editing and Photoshop; must possess a valid driver's license, be able to work in a fast-paced environment that includes night and weekend hours and have the ability to work at heights beyond 10ft, work in uncomfortable conditions (including summer heat, rain and winter cold) and stand for long periods of time (exceeding 3 hours in length).  Applicant must also possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Background check required on selected candidate.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field; video camera experience; working knowledge of Adobe media tools including Encore and Premier; and 2-years experience with any Avid Media non-linear editing tools.
