ACADEMIC SERVICES COORDINATOR

Responsibilities include but are not limited to GradesFirst (computer based student management system) program management and liaison, data integration and maintenance, liaison with KSU Registrar and IT Offices regarding program implementation; manage team rosters; schedule all tutoring sessions for all sports using GradesFirst system; maintain tutor payroll and provide year-to-date tracking of tutor budget; coordinate all K-State, Big 12 and NCAA awards, honor rolls and scholarships; assist in planning and execution of all orientation programs; manage development of a student-athlete handbook; assist with facility scheduling, food, speakers and outside vendors for various events; and front desk presence at Vanier, including receptionist duties.

Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in higher education, counseling or related field and a minimum of two years' experience working with student-athletes in an intercollegiate setting; experience in intercollegiate athletics and direct work with a culturally diverse student-athlete population; excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; excellent written and oral communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills; ability to multi-task; and be able to work evenings and weekends as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in an intercollegiate student services setting.

ACADEMIC ADVISOR

Responsibilities include but are not limited to developing and implementing comprehensive academic, counseling, monitoring and support services for student-athletes to ensure the student-athletes' degree requirements, educational and tutoring needs are met to ensure they are on track to receive their college degree and are eligible to compete in their sport; liaison with student-athletes' campus advisors to ensure proper course schedules are correct for their educational goals and meet required NCAA benchmarks; evaluate each student-athlete's academic skills and aid in development of an academic plan, including study skill techniques, time management and related academic information. Develop and implement a tutorial for each student-athlete, which includes scheduling and supervision of tutorial staff and study table supervision; and monitor student-athletes' matriculation status, track classroom performance, and advise student-athletes regarding athletic eligibility with their goal being a college degree. Must maintain absolute confidentiality to instill confidence in student-athletes.

Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in higher education, counseling or related field; minimum of two years of experience successfully advising/counseling students in higher education with the ability to work with a culturally diverse population; basic knowledge of NCAA academic requirements and legislation; ability to manage sensitive confidential material and information; ability to work with campus student information computer systems/programs; strong organizational, interpersonal, grammar and writing skills; excellent computer skills; ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision; possess a valid driver's license at all times; and must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of experience advising/counseling NCAA Division I collegiate student-athletes.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT, ATHLETICS COMMUNICATIONS

K-State Athletics, a Big 12 Conference member, is seeking a motivated, hard-working individual for the position of Athletics Communications Graduate Assistant beginning in August 2015. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving as a liaison between the athletics department and campus/local/national media and the primary contact for assigned sports (write press releases, design media guides, compile statistics, oversee website/social media content, arrange media interviews, travel to select away events, etc.). Assist in all aspects of office activity and at various athletics events (will be afforded an opportunity to work events involving K-State's most-recognized athletics programs). Assist with the supervision of undergraduate interns.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, and at least one year of experience in collegiate athletics communications. Must have strong writing, editing, computer and oral communication skills; be knowledgeable in Photoshop, InDesign and QuarkXPress (or equivalent); must possess a valid driver's license and be able to work in a fast-paced environment that includes night and weekend hours. Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance issues as they pertain to publicity and promotional efforts.

Graduate Assistants must be enrolled in a minimum of six graduate school hours in the fall and spring semesters. Tuition is not covered by the annual stipend; however, out-of-state applicants are eligible to receive in-state tuition rates. Applicant must be willing to work nights and weekends, as well as possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Background check required on selected candidate.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field, and at least two years of experience in collegiate athletics communications.

Salary:
$15,600 annually paid biweekly (26 pay periods)

GRADUATE ASSISTANT, ATHLETICS OPERATIONS

K-State Athletics, a Big 12 Conference member, is seeking motivated, hard-working candidates for the position of Athletics Operations Graduate Assistant beginning in August 2015. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: game-day management of athletics events, facility and event set-up, scheduling of public safety, EMS, and event staff, as well as coordination of additional logistical needs for assigned sports.

K-State Athletics graduate assistants play an integral role in the Athletics Operations office. Selected candidates will receive unparalleled experience and gain valuable skills needed to apply for entry-level full-time position upon completion of the two-year position.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Must have strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills with attention to detail; working knowledge of Microsoft Office; ability to work in a team environment and individually; strong customer service skills; excellent organizational skills; and strong leadership capabilities. Applicant must be willing to work nights and weekends. Commitment to two-year position.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT, TICKET SERVICES

K-State Athletics, a proud member of the Big 12 Conference, invites applications for the position of Ticket Services Graduate Assistant. Opportunities and responsibilities include: oversee all volleyball ticket operations, assist with event management & supervision for football/basketball/baseball and other events, oversee customer account invoicing and balance collections, assist with ticket services training and evaluation of part-time ticket staff, assisting with day-to-day customer service delivery, and sharing oversight of outbound sales staff.

K-State Athletics graduate assistants play an integral role in creating ‘The Best Fan Experience in the Big 12 Conference.' Selected candidates will receive unparalleled experience and gain valuable skills needed to apply for entry-level full-time position upon completion of the two-year position.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Experience working in a customer service setting; Experience in an NCAA athletics department.

Kansas State University -- Head Women's Tennis Coach in Manhattan, KS

Responsibilities include coaching, instructing and evaluating women's tennis student-athletes in all areas of the program. Evaluate student-athlete performances in pre-season and in-season practices and competitions. Provide leadership and instruction in all areas of deficiencies & motivate student-athletes to promote an atmosphere of accomplishment and confidence. Scout and recruit student-athletes, which includes travel and on-campus visits of prospective student-athletes who can succeed both in competition and academically. Collect and analyze tactical and statistical data of opponents and design/develop strategies. Create and promote the philosophy and objectives of the program, as well as rules and regulations of Kansas State University, the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA. Participate in public relations activities. Represent K-State Athletics at professional, civic, charitable and alumni events. Participate in approved fundraising activities, clinics, exhibitions and camps.

REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Athletic/Business Administration, Recreation or comparable degree and 5 years of NCAA collegiate women's tennis coaching experience, or will accept Master's Degree and three years NCAA collegiate women's tennis coaching experience. Must possess working knowledge of current NCAA rules and compliance issues concerning administration of intercollegiate athletics, and ability to travel to scout and recruit athletes (about 20%).
