CAREER: A former walk-on who left as the team leader with 43 career starts, including the final 26 contests... Became the first Wildcat interior defensive lineman with three-straight first team all-conference honors since Reggie Singletary (1981-83)... Finished career ranked 12th in school history in career tackles and fourth in career tackles for loss among interior defensive linemen... Helped 2017 Senior Class earn a 32-20 record, four bowl berths and two bowl victories.
2017: Started all 13 games, finishing seventh on the team with 44 tackles to go along with 9.0 tackles for loss and a team-high 4.5 sacks, the latter two being career highs... Averaged nearly five tackles per game over the final four regular-season contests with 2.5 TFLs and 1.5 sacks... That stretch included a season-high six tackles at Oklahoma State... Set season highs in TFLs (3.0) and sacks (2.0) against Baylor.
2016: Started a career-high 13 games, earning his second-straight First Team All-Big 12 honor from the Associated Press in addition to being an honorable mention pick by the league’s coaches and a second-team selection by ESPN.com... Ranked ninth on the team with 45 tackles, while he was third with 7.0 tackles for loss... Also broke up a pass and recovered a fumble... Ended the regular season on a high note with a career-high 3.5 TFLs and a season-best seven tackles at TCU... Carded five tackles against Oklahoma and Baylor, the latter featuring a sack... A member of the preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy.
2015: Started all 12 regular season games en route to First Team All-Big 12 honors from the Associated Press and honorable mention accolades from the league’s coaches... Ranked eighth on the team with 45 tackles, while he was fourth in tackles for loss (6.5) and fifth in sacks (3.5)... His tackle total is the most by a K-State interior defensive lineman since 2005... Had a banner day against Oklahoma with career highs in tackles (8), tackles for loss (3.0) and sacks (2.0)... Also recorded six tackles against UTSA and Louisiana Tech, while he had five against Texas Tech and Iowa State... Had a forced fumble and recovery at Texas Tech before forcing an Iowa State fumble in the fourth quarter that led to the game-tying touchdown.
2014: Played in all 13 games with five starts, including each of the last three games... Came away with 30 tackles, the most among all K-State defensive tackles... Also logged 2.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble at West Virginia... Tallied a career-best five tackles in K-State’s win at No. 11 Oklahoma... Registered sacks in back-to-back games against West Virginia and Kansas... A First Team Academic All-Big 12 honoree.
2013: Redshirted... Earned the program’s Overachiever Award as the top freshman in strength and conditioning.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Topeka High under head coach Walt Alexander... A 2012 first team all-city selection... Named to the Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita Eagle 2012 Top-11 teams... A First Team All-Kansas 6A performer by the Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita Eagle... Named the Kansas 6A Defensive Player of the Year... Selected to play in the 2013 Kansas Shrine Bowl... Won back-to-back state wrestling championships in the 285-pound class, while he was the 2013 National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) National Champion... Also won a state championship in powerlifting and participated in both baseball and track and field.
