Second Wind Program

The "Second Wind" degree completion program was developed at Kansas State by Bill Snyder, Head Football Coach, and is now implemented by all Head Coaches, Athletic Department administration, and academic counselors.

Under the Second Wind program, former student-athletes are contacted and encouraged to complete their degree by either returning to Kansas State or attending a college or university close to their residence.

After contacting these former student-athletes, coaches and counselors provide the student with precise requirements for completing the degree, financial aid information, and specific recommendations needed for a returning student.

Through the Second Wind program, former students utilize a step by step approach toward graduation, and the information and resources regarding the academic, financial, and personal options which can facilitate this process.

Since 1998, eight Second Wind students have returned to K-State in order to complete their degree. Of those eight former football players, seven have now graduated.
