Bill Snyder Family Stadium

Renamed in honor of legendary head football coach Bill Snyder by a proclamation of the Kansas Board of Regents on Nov. 16, 2005, Bill Snyder Family Stadium sits on the north end of campus. It opened in 1968.

The stadium has received six major facelifts since 2013 with the latest being completed prior to the 2025 season with the installation of a Hellas matrixH Turf surface. In 2021, the Shamrock Zone opened in the south end zone. This $52 million phase of the Bill Snyder Family Stadium renovation included new suite and loge premium seating areas, the 13,500 square foot Shamrock Zone club event space and new restrooms and concessions on the south concourse. Also, two new videoboards were added in 2020 in the southwest and southeast corners of the stadium, mirroring the two existing videoboards on the north end.

In 2013 the iconic $90 million West Stadium Center was opened. The 250,000 square-foot building overlooks the field from the west side and features two levels of premium suites, loge and club areas, press accommodations, the student-athlete Performance Center, expanded restrooms and concessions facilities and the Hall of Honor.

The four-story Vanier Football Complex opened in August of 2015 at a cost of $70 million. It more than doubled the space of the former complex, serving as home for K-State Football with spacious new team facilities, Sports Medicine and Strength and Conditioning areas and coaches offices, and seating for 2,200 fans. In addition, the Student-Athlete Enhancement Center and offices for Compliance Services and Administration are contained in the building.

The Phase 3B project (Visiting Team Complex) completed in August 2016 enclosed the stadium bowl with a 360-degree concourse and provided new visiting team and officials locker areas as well as a visiting team media room.

Originally named KSU Stadium, the facility was built at a cost of $1.6 million and was financed from student fees, athletics gate receipts and contributions. The stadium opened on Sept. 21, 1968, with a 21-0 shutout of Colorado State. The original seating capacity was 35,000.

With the new Vanier Family Football Complex opening prior to the 2015 season, the Wildcats more than doubled the amount of space for student-athletes and coaches, providing access to world-class resources, equipment and facilities and creating a more cohesive and efficient experience to train, study and compete.

The new training complex, attached to the stadium, includes expansive spaces, bold graphics and state-of-the-art equipment. A grand 4-story atrium leaves a memorable first impression and is accessible from all levels, including the main concourse. Perhaps most importantly, the new Student Athlete Enhancement Center facilitates the very best in academic support services for K-State student-athletes from all 16 sports.

A massive new Strength & Conditioning Center more than doubles the previous footprint with multi-level height ceilings, natural lighting and a built-in plyometric ramp. All-new sports medicine and hydrotherapy equipment includes the latest in student-athlete training and recovery resources.

New football spaces include a team theater, customized and centrally located locker room, multiple student-athlete lounge spaces and expansive meeting rooms. The entire top floor is dedicated to the football program, including offices and meeting rooms, with a private balcony outside of the coaches' offices displaying incredible views of the field and stadium.

The completion of Phase III of the Bill Snyder Family Stadium Master Plan further solidifies the university's place as a prominent force in the Big 12, and aids in attracting, retaining & training high quality recruits from across the nation.

The West Stadium Center also enhances the gameday experience for all 50,000 K-State fans as we cheer for another Wildcat Victory.

The West Stadium Center features amenities for all fans at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. New concessions, restrooms and ticket offices replaced the previous west side facilities, which were originally built in 1968. Additionally, a new Fan Store and Hall of Honor is included on the main Concourse Level.

In addition to being a first-class facility for K-State student-athletes and fans, the West Stadium Center at Bill Snyder Family Stadium also serves as the northwest gateway to campus and a rallying point for the University’s visionary "K-State 2025" plan. The structure makes a statement to the Big 12 Conference, the nation and prospective student-athletes that K-State is committed to competing at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics.

The Terrace Level features the Ahearn Fund Student-Athlete Performance Table to serve the daily dietary needs of all K-State student-athletes. The Tailgate Terrace is a great place to enjoy the unique tailgating atmosphere of a K-State gameday.

The 2nd, 3rd and 4th levels of the West Stadium Center have outdoor Suite, Club and Loge seating. These seats have the best sight lines in College Football and will be the premier seating area for Wildcat Fans. All suite, loge and club season-ticket holders will enjoy an all-inclusive food and beverage experience in the spacious lounges located behind each seating area.

The 5th level of the West Stadium Center is designated for media and coaches on game-days and is the permanent home for the K-State Athletics Communications and K-StateHD.TV offices.
