K-State Track and Field Honored Prior to Kickoff

Sept. 12, 2013K-State AthleticsK-State Track and Field All-Americans and Big 12 Champions are set to be honored prior to kickoff of the football game against Massachusetts this Saturday.

In attendance will be former Wildcats Erik Kynard, Tomas Kirielius and Devin Dick. Kynard, a student assistant coach this season, was an All-American as well as a Big 12 Conference Champion in the indoor and outdoor high jump this past season. Kirielius earned first team outdoor All-American honors in the decathlon and Dick, this past season's Wilma Rudolph Student-Athlete Achievement Award recipient, was an indoor second team All-American in the heptathlon.

Returning K-State athletes that will be honored include seniors Merryl Mbeng, Martina Tresch and sophomore Sara Savatovic while seniors Kyle Wait, Carlos Rodriguez and Jharyl Bowry round out the group for the men's side.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
