| Kansas State University will host the 2012 Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the R.V. Christian Track Complex in Manhattan, Kan. This marks just the second time the Wildcats have hosted the event after doing so in 2005.
The complex includes an 8-lane Rekortan surface and a 110-meter incline/decline sprint lane. The complex also features a men's and women's locker room, team room and offices in the northeast corner of the stadium. Permanent seating for approximately 2,500 is located on the west side of the facility, which was originally constructed in 1973 prior to a $1.4 million renovation of the complex in 2004, and additional seating for nearly 500 has been installed this spring on the east side of the track. In 2011, Texas A&M swept the men's and women's titles, the fifth time both men's and women's squads have won the titles at the same Championship. With the crown, the Texas A&M women have strung together five-straight title wins (2007-11), while Texas paces the field with a league-leading six crowns (1997-99, 2003-04, '06). Kansas State (2001-02) and Nebraska (2000, '05) have also collected two apiece. It was the second title for the Aggie men (2001). The Nebraska men have claimed six overall crowns (1998, 2000, '02, '04, '09-'10), while Texas (1997, '99, 2003, '06) has captured four. Texas Tech (2005), Oklahoma (2007) and Colorado (2008) have also been named champions. Championship History
