Track and Field Camps

Wildcat Track and Field Camp

Camp Brochure

When: Wednesday June 18 to Saturday June 21, 2014
Where: Manhattan, Kan.
Cost: $375 for residents | $275 for commuters | $75 off for children of K-State Athletics Staff
Arrival: Wednesday, June 18 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. (residence hall TBD) | Activities will begin at 5:00 p.m.
Departure: Saturday, June 21 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. | Activities will conclude with a camp practice beginning Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.

The goal of this camp is to help young track and field athletes to explore their interest in the various events and to learn from the experiences of successful coaches and student-athletes.  The Wildcat coaching staff has worked with many talented athletes with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences in the sport.  We will address the individual needs of each camper and create an enjoyable atmosphere in which to learn with a great deal of one-on-one attention. This camp is open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).

The Wildcat Fitness Series at Kansas State University is a privately owned enterprise. It is not sponsored by or a part of Kansas State University.

2013 Fall Back to Fitness Camp

Tuesday October 29 to Sunday November 24, 2013 (3 days a week/ (Tues., Thurs., Sun.)
Manhattan, Kan.
Cost: $100 per individual (First 25 registered receive discounted rate of $85)

Camp Brochure

The Fall Back to Fitness Camp is a unique fitness camp that is held three days a week (Tues., Thurs., and Sun.) over a four-week period at Ahearn Field House. The camp will feature expert fitness development from the K-State Track and Field staff along with appearances by both former and current K-State Student Athletes. Campers will be asked to bring their own water/drink to camp. We welcome everyone to come join us for a fun, affordable and relaxed training environment!

Classroom Sessions Include the Following:

  • Warming up/down
  • Running form instruction
  • General strength development
  • Core strength development
  • Mobility development
  • Flexibility development
  • Cardio development
  • Injury prevention techniques

**K-State Athletics staff and immediate family members receive discounted price of $60

Coach Kyle's K-State Pole Vault Coaching Clinic

Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, and/or Friday, Jan. 3, 2014
Manhattan, Kan.
Cost: $100 per individual day, or $150 to attend both days.
Location: There will be both classroom and track sessions - please meet the day of at 8:45 a.m in the Purple Pride Room
Time: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (there will be time allotted for a lunch break)
Registration: Deadlines to register are Wednesday, Nov. 6, and Tuesday, Dec. 31.

Camp Brochure

Kansas State University Track and Field assistant coach, Kyle Hierholzer, will be conducting the clinic. Coach Kyle has been a member of the Wildcat coaching staff for eight years. He along with the help of current K-State athletes will help provide a look at the K-State Pole Vault Model, to discuss training principles and periodization as they relate to athletes at all levels.

Classroom Sessions Include the Following:

  • Pole Vault Technique
  • Pole Vault Training
  • Strength/Power/Gymnastic Development and the Pole Vaulter.
  • Periodization of Training for the Pole Vault

November Practice Viewing Session Will Include the Following:

  • Warm Up
  • Multiple Throws, Pole Vault Approach Development
  • Pole Vault Drills
  • Pole Vault Special Strength
  • Warm Down

January Practice Viewing Session Will Include the Following:

  • Warm Up
  • Multiple Throws, Pole Vault Approaches
  • Pole Vault Jump Session
  • Core Strength
  • Warm Down

**Please note that this clinic is purely for educational purposes. Interaction with Hierholzer as well as student-athletes will be purely from a Q&A standpoint. Both students and coaches particpating are encouraged to ask questions throughout the entire coaching clinic.

The Kyle Hierholzer Clinic Series at Kansas State University is a privately owned enterprise operated by Kyle Hierholzer asst. coach of the K-State Track and Field team and a division of Wildcat Fitness, LLC. It is not sponsored by or a part of Kansas State University. The clinic is subject to cancellation if the demand is not great enough. If this occurs, you will be notified 48 hours prior to each camp and your money will be returned to you.

Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (there will be time allotted for a lunch break)
Registration: Deadline to register is Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014

**Note: The K-State Track and Field Staff thanks everyone for the overwhelming support and amount of participants, who have signed up for the clinic so far, and look forward to holding the event as scheduled on Jan. 4. Anyone still interested in signing up for the clinic is encouraged to do so prior to the Jan. 1, deadline.
