Freshman (2011): A two-way player who saw time in the field in 31 games while he pitched in 11 games with six starts... Held a 4-1 record and a 4.42 ERA, allowing 18 earned runs on 37 hits with 13 walks and 25 strikeouts in 36.2 innings... Also held opponents to a .242 batting average... Saw most of his action out of the bullpen to begin the season, including a game at No. 21 Baylor in which he tossed 2.1 no-hit innings with two strikeouts to pick up his first win... Earned his first career start against Texas Tech on April 21, taking the win as he threw 6.2 scoreless innings with four hits, no walks and five strikeouts... Also earned the win in a five-inning start against New Orleans on May 15, while he was the winning pitcher against No. 12 Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship on May 27 when he allowed two runs on four hits in five innings... Earned 16 starts at first base, including 11 in Big 12 play... Was 9-for-56 with a double and one RBI... Recorded a trio of two-hit games - vs. No. 5 Texas on March 20, at No. 21 Baylor on March 25 and vs. No. 5 Texas A&M on April 2.
