Wildcats Respond with 11-4 Win at Iowa

K-State scores three runs in each of the first two innings

Sophomore (2012): Pitched in 22 games, including 21 out of the bullpen, compiling a 3-1 record with a pair of saves... Picked up his first victory of the season on March 13 at Minnesota when he allowed a pair of runs on five hits with no walks and two strikeouts in career-long 5.2 innings... That came on the heels of a three-inning save against Hartford on March 9 when struck out a career-best six batters... Tossed 2.1 scoreless innings with no walks and three strikeouts on March 23, helping the Wildcats defeat No. 21 Texas... Lasted four innings at No. 24 Oklahoma on March 31 to pick up his second victory... Shut down Wichita State as he tossed 6.1 scoreless innings over two appearances, combining for five strikeouts... Helped the Wildcats shut out Kansas on May 11 when he tossed two scoreless innings with two strikeouts to earn his second save... It was K-State first shutout of a conference opponent in over a year and the first of KU since 2008... Came back two days later against the Jayhawks to throw a hitless inning with another strikeout... Ended the season on a high note against Oklahoma State, throwing 2.1 scoreless frames with two strikeouts.

Redshirt Freshman (2011):
Came out of the bullpen 19 times to compile a 1-2 record and a 2.55 ERA... Allowed seven earned runs on 20 hits with 15 talks and 17 strikeouts in 24.2 innings... Tossed 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit to help K-State top No. 7 Oklahoma on April 10... Picked up his first career win at Kansas on May 21 when he tossed 0.2 scoreless innings with a strikeout... Was solid against No. 13 Texas A&M in the Big 12 Championship on May 28 when he allowed one run on four hits with three strikeouts in 3.1 innings of work... Also pitched in the NCAA Regional against Illinois, tossing 2.1 scoreless innings with two fanned batters.

Freshman (2010): Redshirt season... Named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

De La Salle HS: Lettered for the Meteros as a pitcher and middle infielder under head coach Nick Bridich... Named a Chicago Catholic League All-Star... Earned Academic All-Catholic League honors as a senior... Pitched a one-hit, 13-strikeout game as a senior... Also lettered two years in basketball... Was drafted in the 24th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the Chicago Cubs.
