Started the season 8-0 after leading K-State to its first ever home win over a No. 1 team, throwing six innings and allowing one run on seven hits with two walks and six strikeouts to earn the victory against Texas on May 7... His six strikeouts came on the heels of a seven-strikeout performance at No. 15 Oklahoma... Tallied at least four strikeouts on eight different occasions, including six against Washington State in the NCAA Regional on June 4... Registered a team high six quality starts... Shut down Baylor on April 17 as he allowed one run on one hit with three strikeouts in six innings of work... Did not allow an earned run in his first five appearances, totaling 7.1 innings... Earned a career 23-5 record, including three straight seven-win campaigns as a sophomore, junior and senior... Led team to a regional championship in 2006 as he recorded a school-record low 0.58 ERA... Also holds the school's record for career wins and career strikeouts... Named all-conference his sophomore through senior seasons and was selected to play for the Chicago White Sox team for the Mariner Cup in Seattle, Wash... Was drafted in the 33rd round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.
