Wildcats rally with three in seventh and load bases in eighth

Junior (2011): A regular weekend pitcher who started 16 games, which is tied for first in school history and was tied for fifth in the Big 12 last season... Held a 5-5 record and a 4.63 ERA, allowing 46 earned runs on 94 hits with 27 walks and 77 strikeouts in 89.1 innings... Ranked second on the team in both innings pitched and strikeouts... Also limited opponents to a .273 batting average... Tossed 7.0 scoreless innings with four strikeouts against Western Illinois on March 5... Was two outs away from K-State's first no hitter since 1976 on March 12 against Long Island when he surrendered a hit with one out in the ninth inning... Was in line for the win at No. 5 Texas when he left the game after 5.1 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits... Threw seven strong innings against Texas Tech on April 23 when he allowed one hit and one walk with 13 strikeouts, the most by a Wildcat since 2004... Also had 12 strikeouts in 7.0 innings against New Orleans on May 14.

Sophomore (2010): Saw time in 18 games, including his first career start, while he collected a 1-1 record... Recorded scoreless outings against Texas A&M (5/22), Chicago State (4/28) and Wichita State... His scoreless outing against Chicago State helped the Wildcats record the first combined three-hitter since 2007... Earned a win against the Shockers on March 30 as he allowed just one hit in 2.2 innings with two walks and two strikeouts... Started his first career game against Minnesota on May 5, tallying a career best five strikeouts... Also appeared as a pinch runner on five occasions.

Freshman (2009): Saw action in 24 games in his first season in a Wildcat uniform, tying for 10th in school history for single-season relief appearances... Earned a 2-2 record and one save... Tallied a 4.88 ERA after allowing 15 earned runs on 33 hits with 14 walks and 19 strikeouts in 27.2 innings of work... Picked up the save in an extra-inning game at No. 26 San Diego State, throwing one scoreless inning... Tallied his first win in a 1.2-inning relief outing against UTSA... Came on to pick up his second win of the season in an extra-inning game at No. 2 Texas, allowing just two hits with one strikeout in 1.1 innings... Helped the Wildcats pick up their first-ever NCAA Regional victory when he threw one scoreless inning against Xavier.

Wichita North HS: Lettered four years for the Redskins under head coach Kyle Sanders... Two-time First-Team Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches (KABC) selection... Also named to the KABC All-Star team as a senior... Earned first-team all-league, all-metro and all-state honors in 2008... Produced an 8-2 record with a 1.86 ERA and 87 strikeouts as a senior... Was 6-2 with a 1.76 ERA and 63 strikeouts as a junior... Earned first team all-league honors as an outfielder in 2006... Also lettered three times in bowling and once in cross country.
