Millard West HS: Lettered four years for the Wildcats under head coach Frank Ryan... Finished second in school history in career appearances (36), wins (23), strikeouts (225), ERA (1.71) and complete games (11), while he was first in shut outs (5)... Was a Louisville Slugger High School All-American as a right-handed pitcher and an outfielder, while he was the 2012 Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year... Also earned an invitation to the under-18 USA Baseball tryouts... Went 8-1 with a 1.62 ERA in 48 innings as a senior with 76 strikeouts... Went 6-2 with a 1.28 ERA in 48 innings with 56 strikeouts as a junior, while he was 5-0 with a 2.13 ERA as a sophomore, earning first team all-state accolades on each occasion... Was an honorable mention all-state selection as a freshman when he went 4-2 with a 1.98 ERA.
Personal: Nate Kendall Griep was born October 11, 1993, in Portland, Ore... Son of Kendall and Cindy Griep... Has two siblings, Maddy and Kohle... Plans on majoring in kinesiology with the hopes of becoming an athletic trainer.
