Sophomore (2012): Appeared in six games, including two starts, until an injury ended his season... Received a medial redshirt... Earned a 1-1 record and a 6.35 ERA in 11.1 innings with 10 walks and eight strikeouts... Began the year tossing 1.2 innings of no-hit ball with three strikeouts at CSU Bakersfield on Feb. 18... Also came out of the bullpen against Pacific on March 2 to throw three scoreless frames, working around three hits with two strikeouts... Started his final two games of the year, at Nebraska on March 6 and at Minnesota on March 13.

Freshman (2011):
A two-way player who saw time in the field in 31 games while he pitched in 11 games with six starts... Held a 4-1 record and a 4.42 ERA, allowing 18 earned runs on 37 hits with 13 walks and 25 strikeouts in 36.2 innings... Also held opponents to a .242 batting average... Saw most of his action out of the bullpen to begin the season, including a game at No. 21 Baylor in which he tossed 2.1 no-hit innings with two strikeouts to pick up his first win... Earned his first career start against Texas Tech on April 21, taking the win as he threw 6.2 scoreless innings with four hits, no walks and five strikeouts... Also earned the win in a five-inning start against New Orleans on May 15, while he was the winning pitcher against No. 12 Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship on May 27 when he allowed two runs on four hits in five innings... Earned 16 starts at first base, including 11 in Big 12 play... Was 9-for-56 with a double and one RBI... Recorded a trio of two-hit games - vs. No. 5 Texas on March 20, at No. 21 Baylor on March 25 and vs. No. 5 Texas A&M on April 2.

Naperville Central HS: Lettered one season for the Redhawks under head coach Bill Seiple... Also played three seasons at St. Rita High School... Was named a Louisville Slugger High School All-American as a first baseman and pitcher, the Prep Baseball Report Player of the Year, the Chicago Tribune Player of the Year and the Daily Herald Player of the Year... Was a perfect 12-0 on the mound with a 1.45 ERA to go along with 122 strikeouts and just 12 walks in 82.0 innings as a senior, leading Naperville Central to the 4A state championship over St. Rita... Hit .430 (61-for-142) with 15 doubles, two home runs and 28 RBI in 2010... Also earned all-conference and all-area honors as a junior.
