A member of Kansas State's previous two NCAA Regional teams, Kent Urban enters his first season on the coaching staff as a Student Assistant Coach. In his role, Urban will assist with the hitters while working with the team's outfielders. Urban will also help maintain the program's equipment and other responsibilities assigned by the coaching staff.

Urban was a two-year letterwinner in 2010 and 2011, helping the Wildcats reach the postseason both seasons. The Seward, Neb., product played in 58 games in 2010, hitting .265 with 16 doubles, four home runs and 41 RBI. Of his 16 doubles in 2010, 10 came during conference play to tie for third in the league. Urban was slowed during the 2011 season due to injury, but the senior still contributed to the program's third-straight regional run by hitting .248 with eight doubles, two home runs and 23 RBI in 36 games.

Urban came to K-State following a two-year stint at Barton County CC where he earned honorable mention All-Jayhawk Conference honors. He will graduate with a degree in entrepreneurship in May.
