  • Was brilliant against Kansas on May 15, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings with a season-high tying three strikeouts to earn his first-career win
  • K-State freshman-record-setting sixth save came at Texas Tech on May 17 when he tossed 0.2 scoreless frames with a strikeout

Valley Center HS:
A four-year letterwinner for the Hornets under head coach Chad Gerwik... Led team to a regional championship in 2008 and 2010, earning first team all-league, all-metro and all-state honors as a senior... Went 6-0 with a 1.42 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 39.1 innings of work... Also lettered three years in football and basketball.
