MANHATTAN, Kan. – After hitting over .500 and driving in nine runs during K-State’s 4-0 week, junior outfielder Mitch Meyer was named College Sports Madness National Player of the Week, the website announced.

Meyer hit .538 (7-for-13) with a double, two home runs and three walks in last week’s four games. The Stilwell, Kan. native, who was also selected as the Big 12 Player of the Week, led the Big 12 in RBI and slugging percentage (1.077), tied for the conference lead in home runs, and finished second in the Big 12 in batting average, total bases (14) and on-base percentage (.625).

Meyer helped K-State bat .401 as a team and score 51 runs during the week.

College Sports Madness identifies the players who have made the greatest impact to their team from each conference and on a national basis each week. In addition to Meyer, Oregon State’s Jace Fry was named the organization’s National Pitcher of the Week.
