MANHATTAN, Kan. – Following a season in which it set the school record for wins, won its first conference championship in 80 years and advanced to the Super Regional round for the first time, Kansas State was ranked in the top 15 in each of the final college baseball polls that were released following the conclusion of the College World Series.

K-State’s highest ranking came from Baseball America, which placed the Wildcats 13th in its final top-25 poll. Kansas State’s previous best final ranking was also from Baseball America in 2009 (No. 19).

The Wildcats were ranked 14th in the final USA Today Sports Coaches’ Top 25, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division I Poll and Perfect Game College Top 25, while Kansas State was ranked No. 15 by Collegiate Baseball.

Kansas State earned a 45-19 overall record, including a 16-8 mark in Big 12 play to capture the program’s first conference championship since 1933. The Wildcats earned their first regional host site selection and swept the NCAA Manhattan Regional with wins over in-state rival Wichita State, No. 30 Bryant and No. 12 Arkansas.

Led by Big 12 Coach of the Year Brad Hill, Player of the Year Ross Kivett and Newcomer of the Year Jake Matthys, Kansas State placed a conference record tying seven players on the All-Big 12 First Team and tallied eight All-Big 12 selections overall. Kivett earned All-America accolades from four organizations, while Perfect Game listed junior outfielder Jared King as a second team All-American.
