MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State's Ross Kivett was selected to Perfect Game's 2013 Summer League All-America Team, the organization announced. The senior was recognized by Perfect Game after batting .336 with three home runs and 17 RBI for the Orleans Firebirds, helping the team reach the Cape Cod Baseball League Championship. It is the second straight year Kivett has earned the distinction from Perfect Game as he was chosen in 2012 after he paced the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League with a .401 batting average and was named the league's Player of the Year.

The 2013 Big 12 Player of the Year was named to the Cape Cod Baseball League Postseason All-League Team earlier this month. Kivett was third in the league in batting average, sixth in hits (47) and seventh in doubles (10).

Kivett is one of three second baseman selected from all of the summer leagues for the Perfect Game All-America Team. He is one of three Big 12 players overall to be selected as he is joined by TCU's Kevin Cron (designated hitter) and Texas' Lukas Schiraldi (starting pitcher).

Kivett, 21, was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 10th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft, but he elected to return to the defending Big 12 champion Wildcats for the 2013-14 school year. The Broadview, Ohio native batted .360 (94-for-261) and had a team-high 26 stolen bases in 64 games for the Wildcats last season. He was named to the Collegiate Baseball All-America Third Team and All-Big 12 First Team, helping K-State reach its first Super Regional in program history.
