 Latest News

K-State senior second baseman and center fielder Ross Kivett was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team as one of four infielders for District 7, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced. It is the first time in Kivett's four years at K-State that he has been recognized with the Academic All-District distinction.

Kivett, who went on to graduate in December of 2014 with a degree in communications, had a cumulative grade point average of 3.343 through the spring of 2014. In addition to being named to the Academic All-Big 12 Second Team last season, Kivett was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll each year since 2011, including in the 2013 fall semester when he posted a perfect 4.0 GPA.

After being named a preseason All-American by four organizations prior to this season, Kivett, last year's Big 12 Player of the Year, was named to the Midseason Watch List for the Golden Spikes Award, an honor bestowed upon the nation's top amateur player, as well as earned two Big 12 Player of the Week honors.

It is the second straight year a Wildcat has been selected to CoSIDA's Academic All-District Team. Current senior RJ Santigate was honored in 2013. Since 2007, six Wildcats have been recognized by the organization, including a pair of two-time honorees (Brett Scott and Jason King).
