Personal: Adrian Humberto Diaz was born July 11, 1993 in Miami, Fla. ... Nicknamed "Stretch" by his high school coach as a freshman... Was six feet by the seventh grade and had a major growth spurt to 6-foot-8 by his sophomore year... Parents are Andres and Dr. Juile Diaz... Both are of Cuban descent... Has two brothers, Eric and Andy... Third member of his family to play college basketball, following brothers, Eric, who played at Division II Eckerd [Fla.] College, and Andres, who is a senior at North Florida... K-State has played North Florida the last two seasons and will again in 2012-13... Andy ranked second in rebounding (4.3 rpg.) and third in scoring (9.0 ppg.) on the team in 2011-12... Received scholarship offers from a number of schools, including UCF, Purdue, Miami (Fla.), Virginia Tech, South Florida, FIU and North Florida, and interest from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee and Syracuse...
