MANHATTAN, Kan. - Fans will be able to tune into ESPNU on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. CT to hear from all 10 Big 12 head coaches and selected student-athletes at the league’s Men’s Basketball Media Day set for Kansas City’s Sprint Center.
ESPNU College Basketball Media Day Special will have media personalities Fran Fraschilla and Holly Rowe on site to preview the 2013-14 Big 12 Conference race, including interviews with head coaches and student-athletes. Anish Shroff, along with former Wake Forest head coach Dino Gaudio and former Maryland player Adrian Branch, will be anchor coverage from ESPNU’s Charlotte, N.C., studio.
The K-State contingent will include head coach Bruce Weber, senior guards Shane Southwell and Will Spradling and junior forward Thomas Gipson. Fans will be able to interact with the Wildcat players via social media, as the trio will host a Twitter Takeover of @kstatesports during media day with use of Instagram and Vine videos. The student-athletes will be taking fan question via @kstatesports with the best ones getting selected for use on the platform.
With the season just two weeks away, K-State will be hosting Madness in Manhattan on Friday beginning at 8:30 p.m., with doors to Bramlage Coliseum at 8 p.m. The event is free to the public and, in addition to performances by the K-State pep band, Willie Wildcat and the Classy Cats, there will be a skills competition and scrimmages by both basketball teams.
The men’s basketball opens its 2013-14 campaign on Friday, Nov. 1 in an exhibition game with Pittsburg State at 8 p.m., while the season opener with Northern Colorado is set for Friday, Nov. 8 at 8 p.m.
