A linebacker who will look to take on a leadership role in 2012... Was a running back as a freshman before switching to linebacker prior to his sophomore season of 2010.

2011: Saw time in 11 games, mainly on special teams and as a reserve linebacker... Totaled 11 tackles, including a season-best seven with one TFL against No. 15 Baylor... Carded two tackles against Iowa State and brought down one ball carrier at Kansas and Texas... Recovered a fumble against the Jayhawks.

2010: Finished the year fifth on the team in tackles with 53... Appeared in all 13 games, starting seven... Had a three-game stretch of 31 total tackles against Kansas, Baylor and Oklahoma State, after just 14 in the first five games... Set a career high with 15 stops against the Jayhawks, more than his previous five games combined (14)... Came back with 12 tackles at Baylor and four vs. the Cowboys... Had four stops, one TFL and a forced fumble at Colorado... Also totaled four stops in his first career start against UCLA, while collecting three tackles against Missouri State and Iowa State.

2009: Played in 11 total games at running back with 81 yards rushing... Rushed for 26 yards against Tennessee Tech and 53 yards against Texas A&M.

2008: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Ranked as the No. 15 prospect in the state of Missouri by Rivals and 11th in the state by Scout.com while prepping at Oak Park High School... First team all-district by the Kansas City Star at defensive back... Named second team all-state at defensive back by the Missouri Football Coaches Association... Also named to the PrepStar All-Region team... Rushed for 1,580 yards and 21 touchdowns as a senior... Selected to play in the Missouri vs. Kansas All-Star Game... Was a standout performer at the 2007 Kansas City Nike Combine, finishing first among running backs and 10th overall in the bench press (26 reps)... One of the leading rushers in Kansas City in 2006, Childs had 1,333 yards and also had 38 tackles on defense... Played for head coach Keith Ross... Also lettered in track and basketball.
