CAREER: A former walk-on who turned into one of the top linebackers in the Big 12 in 2014... Was a valuable member of the special teams during his first two years before starting every game at linebacker over the final two years in addition to retaining his special teams duties... Finished his career ninth in school history in unassisted tackles with 169, while he was the 26th player in school history with at least 250 career total tackles... Helped the 2014 Senior Class finish with a 38-14 combined record over the last four years, including a Big 12-best 27-9 conference record.

2014 (Click Here for 2014 Game-by-Game Statistics): Started all 13 games, finishing with 128 tackles en route to Second Team All-Big 12 honors from the league's coaches and Associated Press... Finished second in the Big 12 in total tackles (third in tackles per game), while he was 18th in school history in single-season tackles, recording the most by a Wildcat since Josh Buhl broke the school record with 184 in 2003... Finished 21st nationally in tackles per game, while his 6.1 unassisted tackles per game ranked 14th... Had 79 unassisted tackles during the year to rank third in school history... Carded seven double-digit tackle games, including four in the final five contests... Set a career high with 17 tackles at Oklahoma, the most by a Wildcat since Buhl had 18 in three-straight games during the 2003 season... It was also the highest by a K-State defender in a conference game since 2002... Had 14 tackles in the Alamo Bowl against UCLA, breaking the school's bowl record... Also had 13 stops at Baylor and 12 at TCU, the latter including a career best 1.5 tackles for loss... Ripped a fumble away from an Oklahoma State player and returned it 25 yards.

Started all 13 games, finishing second on the team with 89 tackles, including 4.5 for loss, while also recording two forced fumbles and a pass breakup... Finished 13th in the Big 12 in tackles in tackles per game but ninth in total tackles... Tallied at least seven tackles in eight games, including a career-best 13 against Oklahoma... Also had double-digit tackles against Texas Tech (12) and North Dakota State (10).

Paced the squad with 12 special teams tackles, including nine on kickoffs... Carded nine tackles in the first two games as he recorded four against Missouri State and five against Miami... Also had a tackle for loss against the Hurricanes... Set a then-career high with six tackles against Texas Tech... Recovered fumbles against Kansas and at TCU.

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year letterwinner at Kapaun Mt. Carmel under head coach Dan Adelhardt... A first team all-city and all-state linebacker as a senior, while he was also an honorable mention at fullback... An honorable mention linebacker and fullback as a junior and a second team all-city safety as a sophomore... Led the Crusaders to three-straight district championships... Totaled 312 career tackles, including 113 as a senior... Also picked off three passes and forced three fumbles during his final season... Participated in the 2010 Kansas Shrine Bowl... Also participated in wrestling, finishing fourth at state in 2008 and 2009 before winning the state title in 2010.

PERSONAL: Jonathan Michael Truman was born January 6, 1992, in Wichita Kan... Son of Tom and Jane Truman... Has three siblings, Sarah, Emily and Matt... Brother, Matt, was a member of the Wichita State track and field team... A kinesiology major who wants to become a fire fighter after college.
