MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State offensive lineman Cornelius Lucas and long snapper Marcus Heit were selected to showcase their talents at the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine, February 22-25, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind., the National Football League has announced.
Lucas and Heit were two of 25 Big 12 players invited to the NFL Combine, which selected more than 300 players from around the country. Lucas is one of three Big 12 offensive linemen to be invited, while Heit is the only long snapper in the nation to travel to Indianapolis. Both players will work out on the first day of the combine on Saturday, February 22.
A 26-game starter at left tackle, Lucas earned All-Big 12 honors as both a junior and senior while he appeared in 50 games over his four-year career. The New Orleans, La., product was also named to the preseason watch list for the 2013 Outland Trophy, while he was a Second Team Academic All-Big 12 performer as a senior.
Heit, a three-year letterwinner, was true on all 363 combined punt and field goal snaps during his career. The Derby, Kan., native has already had a chance to show off his abilities to NFL teams as he participated in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., last month.
The 2014 NFL Combine will be televised live on NFL Network.
Kansas State's 2014 schedule was released Monday and includes seven home games, including a Thursday night primetime matchup with BCS National Championship runner-up Auburn on September 18. Pricing and promotions for the 2014 season will be available the final week of February while season and single-game tickets will go on sale on March 3.
