April 4, 2011

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State Athletics and the Wildcat football program have set a 1:10 p.m. kickoff for the April 30 Purple/White spring football game at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

The weekend will be chalked full of events beginning with the 27th annual Powercat Auction and golf tournament on Friday, April 29. The scramble-format golf tournament will tee off at 9 a.m. at Colbert Hills Golf Course, while the auction, which will feature a western theme this year, will begin at 6 p.m. inside Bramlage Coliseum.

For information regarding the golf tournament, contact Bernie Haney at bhaney@k-state.edu and for tickets and details on the Powercat Auction, contact Lon Floyd at lfloyd@kstatesports.com or visit www.k-statesports.com.

Tickets for the spring game are priced at $5 while K-State students and children under the age of two will be admitted at no charge. To purchase tickets, visit k-statesports.com or call the K-State Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-221-CATS. Both ticket booths at the stadium will also be open on gameday beginning at 10 a.m.

Students will need to present their student ID’s at the east side ticket booth at Bill Snyder Family Stadium and enter the stadium through Gate M.

Parking for the event is free and both the west and east lots of the stadium will open at 10 a.m. prior to the game. Fans are encouraged to park in the west lots as seating inside the stadium will be limited to the west and south endzone sections. Suite holders on the east side will have access to their suites for the game, and stadium gates will open at 11:30 a.m.

Also of note, there will be no autograph session with the football team following the 2011 spring game, but fans will have that opportunity during fall training camp.

The Wildcats return 40 total lettermen from a 2010 team that finished 7-6 and earned a trip to the New Era Pinstripe Bowl. K-State became one of just two Big 12 schools and 14 across the nation this past season to have its football team in a bowl game and both its men’s and women’s basketball teams in the NCAA Tournament.

K-State opens the 2011 season on September 3 when it hosts Eastern Kentucky in the third-annual K-State Family Reunion. Season tickets for the seven-game home schedule, which includes five Big 12 Conference games, are currently available for as little as $21 per game. Visit k-statesports.com or call 1-800-221-CATS for more information.
