MANHATTAN, Kan. – In addition to the national FX television broadcast on Saturday, K-State’s marquee non-conference football matchup with Miami will also be carried live on FOX Deportes, the No. 1 U.S. Latino sports network, FOX officials have announced.

FOX Deportes will broadcast 17 college football games this season with the K-State/Miami game as well as the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic being among the network’s selected telecasts. The coverage of 17 college football games is the most-ever carried in one season in the history of U.S. Latino media and will be the first on FOX Deportes since 1996.

“We are proud of our partnership with FOX Sports and honored to be selected as one of only 15 regular season college football games to be broadcast live on FOX Deportes,” said Athletics Director John Currie. “The exposure FOX Deportes will provide our university and football program is unique and substantial for Kansas State University as we reach an international audience.”

FOX Deportes is set to present 14 regular-season college football games live in Spanish, primarily from the Pac-12 or Big 12 conferences, plus the Pac-12 and Big Ten Football Championship games and the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, one of the oldest and most respected of all bowl games, in January. Calling the gridiron action for FOX Deportes are veteran broadcasters Pablo Alsina and Francisco Rivera.

“Kansas State University, with its K-State 2025 vision and goals, has internationalization and diversity as a primary element, and because of our land-grant mission and the growing Latino population in Kansas, the occasion of reaching US Latinos and Latin America is of first importance for us,” said Dr. Marcelo Sabates, associate provost for international programs at K-State. “Diversifying our students and faculty including Latinos and Latin Americans is a priority at our institution. We have an impressive set of activities directed towards Latin America and Fox Deportes is giving us a great opportunity to make our institution better known in a population that is essential to our future.”

FOX Deportes can be found on Cox Channel 303 in the state of Kansas, or viewers can contact their local cable provider for additional channel information.
