MANHATTAN, Kan. – Eight home games, including three straight to open the season and five Big 12 matchups at Bill Snyder Family Stadium, highlight the Wildcats’ 2013 football slate as the conference office announced the composite schedule for all 10 league schools today.
“With eight home games at Bill Snyder Family Stadium and the opening of the new West Stadium Center, the 2013 season will be very special for Wildcat Nation,” said Athletics Director John Currie. “Following record crowds in 2012 and the tremendous hard work of Coach Snyder, our football staff and our student-athletes, we are looking forward to another exciting season and eight sellout crowds in 2013.”
K-State will open the new $75 million West Stadium Center and the 2013 campaign August 31 when North Dakota State, currently the No. 1-ranked team in FCS and the defending national champion, visits Bill Snyder Family Stadium. Louisiana then heads to Manhattan on September 7 before UMass, a new FBS member, wraps up the non-conference schedule with a September 14 matchup.
The Wildcats will open up Big 12 Conference play September 21 at Texas before enjoying their first bye week of the season. Following a road trip to Oklahoma State on October 5, K-State will return home for three straight games beginning with Baylor on October 12. The Cats’ second bye week will be October 19 before hosting West Virginia (October 26) and Iowa State (November 2) in consecutive weeks.
K-State travels to Texas Tech on November 9 before hosting TCU in Manhattan on November 16 and Oklahoma November 23 in the home finale. The final regular season game will be the Dillons Sunflower Showdown on November 30 in Lawrence against the Jayhawks.
