MANHATTAN, Kan. - To celebrate K-State's 10-2 football record this season and berth in the AT&T Cotton Bowl, the Kansas State Athletics Department is offering a limited number of 2012 season tickets for just $102, department officials announced today.
With numerous key players from this year's squad, which finished No. 8 in the final BCS poll, returning for the 2012 season, K-State is encouraging fans to take advantage of this special offer and reserve seats for next season.
"Thanks to the hard work and commitment of Coach Snyder, our coaches and our student-athletes, it has been a memorable and special football season," Athletics Director John Currie said. "Bill Snyder Family Stadium was filled to 97 percent capacity this past season, as fans have stepped up to make our atmosphere one of the best in the country. We believe offering these special ticket options at a price-point that is accessible to most fans in an area of the stadium that features newly upgraded restrooms and concessions can lead to a `sold-out' home season in 2012."
Seats for the $102 season tickets, priced to match the Wildcats' 10-2 regular season record, will be located in rows 6 and above in sections 420 and 430 and rows 13 and above in sections 421, 422, 428 and 429. Fans are limited to eight season tickets per account. The $102 price will only be guaranteed to be available while supplies last, or through the bowl game, which will be played on January 6.
Current season ticket holders in these same locations may renew their seats for 2012 between now and January 6 at the reduced price. To assist fans on a limited budget, tickets can be purchased via an eight-month credit card payment plan beginning January 15 through August 15. A $25 handling fee will also be added to each purchase.
To purchase these tickets, visit the K-State Athletics Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum, call the ticket office at 1-800-221-CATS or visit the official athletics website at k-statesports.com. The ticket office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with holiday hours on Friday, December 23 of 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The ticket office will be closed on Monday, December 26.
Led by 2011 National and Big 12 Coach of the Year Bill Snyder, Defensive Newcomer of the Year Arthur Brown and Offensive Freshman of the Year Tyler Lockett, the Wildcats will look to build on their success from this season during the 2012 campaign. The Wildcats are slated to return their top three rushers, including the nation's leading rusher among quarterbacks in All-Big 12 performer Collin Klein, top four receivers and five defensive players that have recorded at least 50 tackles in 2011.
The 2012 football schedule, full ticket pricing and renewal information for other 2012 football ticket locations will be available this spring.
