SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Kansas State men's golf team carded a 17-over par 301 Tuesday to finish the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational in a tie for ninth place at 41-over 905 at the par-71, 6,765-yard Oak Hills Country Club. For the second day in a row, the Wildcats were led by senior Daniel Wood and junior Kyle Weldon who finished tied for 12th and tied for 15th place, respectively.

"We had three solid scores today with Daniel, Kyle and Seth (Smith)," said head coach Tim Norris. "73, 74, and 75 were three pretty good scores today, we just needed a better fourth score and I think we could have moved up a couple of notches. But I saw some good things and some things that I think are just going to work themselves out over time."

After carding a 7-over 149 in Monday's first and second rounds, Wood recorded a final-round score of 2-over 73 to finish the event at 9-over 222. Weldon also turned in a 7-over 149 on Monday and fired a 3-over 74 on Tuesday to finish at 10-over 223.

Freshman Seth Smith moved 17 spots up the leaderboard thanks to final-round 4-over 75. Smith came into Tuesday's final round in a tie for 61st place but ended the event in a tie for 44th place at 18-over 231.

Seniors David Klaudt and Alex Carney rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats by tying for 65th place and 72nd place, respectively.

Oklahoma captured the team title as the Sooners carded a 25-over 877 to finish four shots ahead of the field. Baylor's Kyle Jones finished atop the individual leaderboard with an overall score of even-par 213.
