MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State men's golf team placed two members on the Academic All-Big 12 Team, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Junior Curtis Yonke (Entrepreneurship) was placed on the first-team and earned All-Big 12 honors for the second-straight season. He has participated in 10 events for the Wildcats this year with season-best sixth-place finish at the Diet Pepsi Shocker Classic. Yonke leads the Wildcats with a 73.55 stroke average.
Junior Chase Chamberlin (Life Sciences) earned second-team honors for the first time in his career. He has participated in nine events for the Wildcats this season with his best finish coming at the Jim Colbert Intercollegiate where he tied for 10th. Chamberlin holds a stroke average of 75.29.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of his team's scheduled contests.
The Wildcats will compete at the Big 12 Championship, April 27-29 at the Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas.
