MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State men's golf team will play host to the 2013 Big 12 Championship, Monday through Wednesday, April 22-24, at the par-70, 6,593-yard Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.

The event will consist of 72 holes, with 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday and Wednesday. Each day's action is scheduled to get underway at 8 a.m.

"I feel very confident that the five guys that we are sending will give us the best chance to finish the highest," said head coach Tim Norris. "We have struggled as a team this spring, but I am confident that these guys can break out and rise to the occasion."

The Wildcats' scoring lineup will consist of seniors Ben Juffer and Curtis Yonke, junior Daniel Wood, sophomore Kyle Weldon and freshman Matt Green.

Juffer will look to use his experience to lead K-State into action, as he has played in every event this season and has competed in the Big 12 Championship for the last three years.

Yonke has been K-State's most successful golfer this spring as he led the Wildcats over the last four events. He currently leads the team in stroke average (72.57) and top-20 finishes (five). Like Juffer, Yonke will be playing in his fourth consecutive Big 12 Championship, with his best finish coming in 2010, where he tied for 15th place.

Wood last competed in the conference championship in 2009, where he tied for 21st place. Along with Juffer, Wood has competed in all 11 tournaments this season and ranks near the top of all major statistical categories for K-State this year.

Last spring, Weldon tied for 36th place in the 2012 Big 12 Championship and will look to get back on track next week in Hutchinson. Green has been a part of seven-straight Wildcat scoring lineups and will look to make an impact in his first conference championship.

K-State will be joined in the field by Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas and Texas Tech.

Live scoring updates will be available throughout the tournament at golfstat.com. Post-event recaps and results will be available at kstatesports.com at the conclusion of each day's play.
