MANHATTAN, Kan. - Former Kansas State men's golfer and current PGA Tour member Robert Streb carded a three-round score of  8-under par 208 this past weekend to win the Watson Challenge at The Country Club at Loch Lloyd in the Kansas City area.

Streb entered Sunday's final round at even par after carding a 1-over par 73 Friday and 1-under par 71 on Saturday. The Edmond, Oklahoma, native, who now resides in Shawnee, Kansas, set the tournament record with a final-round score of 8-under par 64 to win by five strokes over Zac Gavlak, Jon Troutman and the tournament's namesake, Tom Watson.

Streb, who currently ranks 72nd in the FedEx Cup rankings, was awarded $10,000 for winning the Watson Challenge but immediately donated that money to The First Tee of Greater Kansas City, a youth development organization teaching young people positive values such as honesty, integrity, sportsmanship and confidence while using the game of golf as a tool.

Next action for Streb will be at the Travelers Championship, June 19-22, at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.

Streb is the second former Wildcat to win the Watson Challenge following Joe Ida in 2012, who tied for ninth at 3-over par 219 in this year's event. Junior-to-be Matt Green tied for 13th at 5-over par 221, while another former Wildcat, Curtis Yonke, was one stroke behind Green at 6-over par 222 to tie for 16th.
