MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State senior golfer Curtis Yonke was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American in an announcement by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) this week. The Overland Park, Kan., native was one of 146 Division I golfers and one of seven honorees named from the Big 12 conference.

To be eligible for this award, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I play and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

A team captain, Yonke continued his solid play in his third year in Manhattan, having led the team with a 73.55 stroke average last season. As a junior, Yonke earned first-team All-Big 12 honors for the second-straight year as well as Academic All-Big 12 First Team honors for the first time as a Wildcat.

K-State will begin the 2012-13 season in the Shocker Classic, September 10 and 11, at the Wichita Country Club in Wichita, Kan.
