- The 39th annual Colbert-Fogler Golf Classic benefiting the home of K-State men's and women's golf will be held Friday and Saturday, September 5-6, at Colbert Hills Golf Club.
The event kicks off Friday at 8:30 a.m., with practice round tee times prior to a two-person par-3 scramble at 2:30 p.m., and a kickoff dinner and auction at 6 p.m. Saturday's 18-hole shamble will be broken up into two nine-hole rounds, with the first round beginning at 8 a.m. The participants will then head to the clubhouse for a K-State football watch party as the Wildcats play at Iowa State beginning at 11 a.m., while the second nine-hole round begins at 3 p.m. A post-tournament awards ceremony will begin immediately following play.
The 2014 edition of the Colbert-Fogler Golf Classic will be unique in that the Colbert Hills Hall of Fame will be unveiled. The hall of fame will be a lasting tribute to those who have played tremendous roles in making the dream of bringing a championship golf facility to Manhattan a reality. The first inductee will be honored on Friday evening during the kickoff dinner, and tickets are $50 for those who would like to only attend this event.
The entry fee into the tournament is $475 per player, which includes two rounds of golf (practice and tournament), four meals, a $100 Colbert Hills gift card and a $250 tax-deductible contribution. The minimum age is 18 years old while the maximum individual handicap is 25. Both men and women are eligible to compete, and a spouse/guest package is available for $100, which includes dinner on Friday night and entry into the clubhouse Saturday to watch the football game.
