Marlies Gipson is in her second season serving as director of video operations for the Kansas State women's basketball program.
Gipson is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the team's video operations, including video exchange with opponents and editing of practice and game film. She is also assists in the administrative duties regarding the program and budget management.
Gipson was a four-year letterwinner from 2005-09 under head coach Deb Patterson. She concluded her career as K-State's recordholder for career blocked shots (257) and ranked 13th in school history for career points (1,313) and fifth in the program's history for career rebounds (811).
She helped K-State to a pair NCAA Tournament bids, two Postseason WNIT appearances including the 2006 Postseason WNIT crown and the helped the Wildcats to the second Big 12 regular season crown in 2008.
Gipson garnered a pair of All-Big 12 second team honors from the league's coaches (2008 & 2009) and was an All-Big 12 first team selection by the Dallas Morning News (2008) and a second team All-Big 12 honoree by the Kansas City Star (2008).
She was also a leader in the classroom as she earned CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VII second team honors during the 2009 season, was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 first team recipient and eight-time Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll honoree.
The product of McPherson, Kan., Gipson graduated from Kansas State in December of 2009 with a degree in elementary education.
