Wildcats to Make Eight TV Appearances

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State women's basketball will make eight television appearances during the upcoming 2010-11 season, with four of those contests airing to a national audience on either FSN or ESPN2. The Kansas State athletic department has also finalized game times for a majority of the home schedule.

K-State owns a 79-54 (.594) all-time record when playing on television, including a 49-38 mark on FSN and a 9-8 record on the ESPN family of networks. Since the start of the 2002-03 season, the Wildcats will have appeared on television at least 105 times.

K-State will make all seven of its eight TV appearances on either FSN or FS Kansas City. Kansas State will make its 2010-11 television debut during the non-conference slate, as the Wildcats host North Dakota on Dec. 8, at 7 p.m., on FS Kansas City.

Kansas State will make its first national television appearance of the 2010-11 season on FSN against Oklahoma on Sunday, Jan. 9, at 2:30 p.m. This will be the Big 12 opener for both schools and will be the third time in the last four seasons that the Wildcats and Cowgirls will play a televised matchup. This is also the second straight season that the Wildcats will open conference action on FSN.

The Wildcats will appear on FSN in their next television appearance on Saturday, Jan. 22, against Nebraska in Bramlage Coliseum. The matchup between the Wildcats and Huskers will be the fourth straight season that they will appear in a national FSN telecast when opposing one another.

K-State's next television appearance will be on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m., as the Wildcats face Texas on FS Kansas City in Manhattan. The following week on Feb. 16, FS Kansas City will broadcast the Wildcats contest against Colorado.

On Feb. 13, Kansas State will visit Iowa State and ESPN2 has chosen to broadcast the contest to a national audience at 4 p.m. This will be the first time K-State has appeared in a regular season game on ESPN2 since Feb 11, 2007 at Texas Tech. This will be the first national telecast of a K-State and Iowa State regular season matchup since Feb. 24, 2007.

Kansas State will conclude its television appearances during the final two games of the regular season, as the Wildcats host Texas A&M on March 2, at 7 p.m., with FS Kansas City televising the proceedings. K-State will travel to Kansas for the Dillon's Sunflower Showdown, which concludes the Big 12 regular season slate. FSN will televise the action at 6:30 p.m., on March 5, which will be the fifth time in the last six seasons that at least one game between the rivals will be aired to a national audience.

Additional televised contests could be added to the schedule, pending the decisions of other FSN regional networks within the Big 12 and K-State's non-conference opponents. All of Kansas State's women's basketball games are available on the radio across the K-State Sports Network, please check for an affiliate in your area. Also, free audio broadcasts of all of the women's basketball games will be available on the official website of Kansas State Athletics, kstatesports.com.

Game times for the remainder of K-State's schedule have been set. The Wildcats will play 7 p.m., contests against Fort Hays State (exhibition - Nov. 4), Washburn (exhibition - Nov. 8), Indiana State (Nov. 17), South Dakota State (Nov. 30), Missouri (Jan. 19) and Iowa State in Manhattan (Feb. 26).

The remainder of Kansas State's home women's basketball schedule is as follows: Nov. 21, vs. Western Illinois, 2 p.m.; Dec. 12, vs. UC Davis, 2 p.m.; and Jan. 29, vs. Kansas, 2 p.m.

Patterson returns eight letterwinners and three starters, including junior Jalana Childs and sophomores Brittany Chambers and Taelor Karr. Patterson also welcomes three freshmen to the roster (Chantay Caron, Brianna Kulas and Stephanie Wittman) for the upcoming 2010-11 campaign.

Women's basketball season tickets begin at $78 for general admission, while bench and chairback seating is available for $99 and $132, respectively. K-State is also offering a "Wildcat 4-Pack" this season which consists of four general admission tickets for $200. Season tickets are only $50 for those with military IDs stationed at Fort Riley.
