MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State associate head women’s basketball coach Kamie Ethridge recently garnered national recognition with her selection to the CollegeInsider.com’s top-25 High-Major women’s basketball assistant coaches list. Ethridge was one of eight assistant coaches from the Big 12 to make the listing.

Ethridge, entering her 16th season on the bench for the Wildcats, has helped guide K-State to 11 postseason appearances, including eight NCAA Tournament berths, and a pair of Big 12 regular season titles in 2004 and 2008. Known for being one of the top perimeter coaches in the country, she has helped mentor 90 Academic All-Big 12 selections (most in the league), 38 All-Big 12 honorees, nine Associated Press All-America selections, five Academic All-America recipients and four future WNBA players.

During her playing career at Texas from 1982-86, Ethridge was a two-time Kodak All-American and the 1986 winner of both the Wade Trophy and the Honda Broderick Award while leading the Longhorns to the first undefeated NCAA title. Following her playing career, Ethridge was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame (2002) and the Texas Women’s Athletics Hall of Fame (2000).

She also had the opportunity to represent the United States in a number of international competitions, including: the 1988 gold medal-winning Olympic team, the 1987 gold medal-winning Pan American Games team, the 1987 gold medal-winning Goodwill Games team and the 1986 gold medal-winning World Championships squad.

K-State will open the 2011-12 season by hosting exhibition games with Oklahoma City on Thursday, Nov. 3 and Washburn on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The Wildcats will begin the regular season with a three-game home stand starting on Saturday, Nov. 12 against Dartmouth. The game time will be announced after a game time is determined for the K-State football game against Texas A&M.

Prices for single game tickets this season are: $5 for general admission youth, $8 general admission adult, $9 for bench seating and $12 for chairback. Season tickets remain available, including the Wildcat 4-Pack season ticket package of four general admission tickets for $200.
