MANHATTAN, Kan. – The No. 6 Kansas State equestrian team will look to finish the regular season undefeated at home, when No. 9 TCU visits Timbercreek Stables on Saturday. The meet is set for a 9 a.m. start and will also mark the final home meet for 21 seniors.

“It is bittersweet to be facing our last home and last regular season meet of the year, but we are hoping to clinch an undefeated home record this Saturday,” said head coach Casie Maxwell. “We will also be honoring 21 amazing seniors who have heavily impacted our program and helped us to be so successful.”

K-State will feature the same Hunter Seat lineup that defeated No. 7 Baylor, 6-4. Rachel Webster and Cat Avolese enter the meet after going a combined 4-0 against the Bears and will compete in both events. Henley Adkins and Madison Wayda will join the senior duo in both Equitation Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat. Jacquelyn Bogstad will be the fifth member of the Flat team, while Shana Barnett competes in Fences.

The Western team will also feature the same lineup that helped takedown the Bears last weekend. Of the 10 riders competing for the Wildcats, seven will make their last home appearance.

Four of those seniors will be competing in Horsemanship. Kelly Bovaird, Amelia Crites, Chayna DeNicolo, and Rachel Wetherell will hope to finish on a positive note. Sophomore Danielle Kemper is will be the lone underclassman in the group.

In Reining, Jordan Cox, Jesse Johnson, and Emily Stockford will lead a strong group into the arena. The trio can make an impact in their home finale. Februrary Big 12 Rider of the Month Savannah Smith and Kara Guy round out the starting lineup for the Wildcats.

This weekend’s meet is free and open to the public. Following the meet, K-State will have ceremony honoring their seniors.
