DALLAS, Texas— Despite gusty winds, the Kansas State women’s golf team turned in a second-round score of 31-over par 319 to sit in sixth of the Dallas Athletic Club Invitational at the par 72, 6,301-yard Dallas Athletic Golf Club.

Gianna Misenhelter moved up one spot on the leaderboard to sit in a tie for fourth. The junior fired a 5-over par 77 in the second round and looks to continue her solid play to earn her first top-five finish of the season.

Carly Ragains turned in an 11-over par 83 in the second round to sit in a tie for 17th, and two strokes behind Ragains was Olivia Eliasson. Eliasson remained solid in the second round moving up two spots on the leaderboard, as she currently sits in a tie for 24th.

“It is not what we were looking for, but we survived,” said head coach Kristi Knight. “The conditions were tough with gusty winds. Gianna and Olivia hung in there. Tomrrow is another day, and beating ourselves will get us nowhere. We have to come out fighting tomorrow.”

Whitney Pyle notched a 9-over par 81 to sit in a tie for 31st, while Hanna Roos rounded out the scoring lineup with a 36-hole score of 26-over par 17.

Oklahoma State fired a 7-over par 295 in the second round to currently sit atop the leaderboard. Denver sits in second-place, four strokes behind the Cowgirls.

Oklahoma State’s Julie Yang sits on top of the individual leaderboard with a 36-hole score of 6-under par 138, eight strokes ahead of Oklahoma’s Chirapat Jao-Javanil.
