OXFORD, Miss. – The Kansas State women’s golf team finished the Rebel Intercollegiate in a tie for eighth following third-round play on Sunday at the par 72, 6,313-yard Ole Miss Golf Club.

The Wildcats carded a 17-over par 305 in round three for a 54-hole score of 44-over par 908.

“We were in a position for a very solid result, but our play was just not quite good enough today,” head coach Kristi Knight said. “Shots that are only a few yards away got big bounces around the elevated greens here, but overall, I am very proud of our effort.”

Carly Ragains led the Wildcats for the second-straight event. The freshman turned in a 54-hole score of 10-over par 226 after a 4-over par 76 on Sunday. Ragains finished in a tie for 27th.

Gianna Misenhelter improved by four strokes over Saturday’s play to notch a 3-over par 75. The sophomore carded a 54-hole score of 12-over par 228 to finish in a tie for 33rd. Kristen Dorsey also tied for 33rd overall and finished third among players competing as individuals.

Hanna Roos tallied a 54-hole score of 14-over par 230 to finish in a tie for 41st. Two strokes behind Roos was Whitney Pyle, who finished in a tie for 48th.

Ami Storey turned in a 54-hole score of 20-over par 236 to finish in a tie for 69th.

Baylor won the team competition with a 7-over par 871, eight strokes ahead of second-place Tulsa. Baylor’s Jaclyn Jansen won the individual competition with a 54-hole score of 6-under par 210, one stroke ahead of Tulsa’s Marita Engzelius.
