LAWRENCE, Kan. — The Kansas State women’s golf team sits in eighth after the second round of the Big 12 Championships at the par 70, 6,150-yard Lawrence Country Club golf course.
The Wildcats notched a 29-over par 309 in the second round to earn a 36-hole score of 72-over par 632.
Whitney Pyle bettered her stroke count by 10 in recording a 2-over par 72. The junior turned in the second best score in round two and currently sits in a tie for 13th at 12-over par 154.
“Whitney had a great round today,” said head coach Kristi Knight. “The conditions were better for scoring, but we did not quite take advantage of the opportunity today. It was not for a lack of competing. The ladies have good intentions and know it is important to keep the ball below the hole. We are hitting quality shots, but a mistake here and there can be costly. The ladies will do their best to get after it tomorrow.”
Carly Ragains carded an 8-over par 78 to sit in a tie for 18th at 15-over par 157. The freshman will look to move up the leaderboard in the third and final round to earn her second top-20 finish on the season.
Hanna Roos turned in a 9-over par 79 to sit in a tie for 30th at 19-over par 159, and one stroke behind Roos was Ami Storey who notched a 10-over par 80 to sit in a tie for 35th at 20-over par 160.
Gianna Misenhelter bettered her stroke count by two in the second round recording a 14-over par 84. The sophomore currently sits in 50th, 30-over par 170 and will look to move up the leaderboard in the final round.

Oklahoma’s Chirapat Jao Javanil sits on top of the individual leaderboard at 5-over par 145, two strokes ahead of second place Hayley Davis of Baylor.
