WINDSOR, Colo. - The Kansas State women's golf team finished tied for eighth on Tuesday with a three round score of 47-over par at Colorado State's Ptarmigan Ram Classic at the par-72, 6,352-yard Ptarmigan Country Club.

K-State, which sat in ninth after the conclusion of round two, shot the sixth lowest score in round three with every single team member shooting a 75 or better. The performance resulted in a move up the standings to finish tied with host Colorado State.

"We weren't quite able to get enough low scores in round one and two, but we finished strong today," head coach Kristi Knight said. "This is just the beginning and we can take a lot of positives away from these results in a field with such great competition."

Juniors Olivia Eliasson and Carly Ragains both finished in the top 20 with Eliasson firing a 3-under par 69 in the second round to move her up 36 spots to 13th before a round-three score of 74 placed her in a tie for 15th. Ragains shot an even-par 72 in the final round to move up four spots and finish at a tie for 20th. She was also one of only five players in the entire tournament to card an eagle.

Finishing at a tie for 50th were K-State freshmen Katherine Gravel-Coursol and Madison Talley. Talley fired an even-par 72 in the final round to move up 19 spots, while Gravel-Coursol improved four positions with a 3-over par 75.

Senior Gianna Misenhelter had her best round of the tournament in round three by firing a 3-over par 75 as she finished in a tie for 58th.

California captured the Ptarmigan Ram Classic team title at a 9-over par 873, nine strokes better than second-place Colorado. UNLV's Dana Finkelstein was the top individual performer at 4-under par 212 followed closely by both California's Nicola Roessler and New Mexico's Sammi Stevens at 3-under par.

K-State will be back in action Sept. 23-24, when it hosts the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational at Colbert Hills in Manhattan. The event is free to the public.
