Wildcats Travel to San Jose for Juli Inkster Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan.--The Kansas State women's golf team heads to San Jose Calif., March 4-5, to compete in the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational at the par 72, 6,180-yard Almaden Golf and Country Club.
The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 holes on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. (MT) both days.
"The team is looking forward to this event because it is our first trip to the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational," said head coach Kristi Knight. "There were many positives coming out of Westbrook. I am glad we are going right back out and competing."
Eliasson will look to continue her successful spring start as the sophomore finished in 12th last week with a 54-hole score of 5-over par 221. Eliasson notched her third top-20 finish of the season as well as her first two even-par rounds.
Pyle also had a strong showing carding two 1-over par rounds, but because of her honesty and integrity had a disqualifying score in the second round as she signed an incorrect scorecard.
Misenhelter turned in a 13-over par 229 to tie for 34th at the Westbrook Invitational, while Preston finished with a 54-hole score of 20-over par 236.
This will be the first team event of the spring Ragains will compete in, as the sophomore competed individually at the Westbrook Spring Invitational. Ragains finished in a tie for 36th with a 54-hole score of 14-over par 230.
The Wildcats will be joined at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational by California, Colorado State, Fresno State, Idaho, North Carolina State, Oregon, San Francisco, San Jose State, Santa Clara, Stanford, UC Davis, UC Irvine and Washington.
This is the first time the Wildcats will compete in the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational.
The two-day tournament features four top-20 teams as well as four-time Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational defending champion California.
