MANHATTAN, Kan. – Coming off its best finish of the spring, the Kansas State women’s golf team will travel east to compete in the 2013 Briar’s Creek Invitational, March 25-26, at the par-72, 6,120-yard Briar’s Creek Golf Club in John’s Island, S.C.
The event will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Monday’s action will begin with a 9:15 a.m. (EST) shotgun start, while Tuesday’s final round will begin with a 9 a.m. (EST) shotgun start.
“The ladies did a great job last week in Arizona,” said head coach Kristi Knight. “This event is a new challenge with another strong field of teams, and I know they are looking forward to keeping the momentum going.”
The scoring lineup for the Wildcats will consist of Gianna Misenhelter, Carly Ragains, Olivia Eliasson, Whitney Pyle and Hanna Roos.
Misenhelter is coming off a solid performance in last week’s Mountain View Collegiate, where she set season-lows in 18-, 54- and 72-hole scores to finish at 1-over 217, tying for eighth place.
Ragains recorded her third top-20 finish of the year as she tied for 14th in the Wildcats’ last event. Ragains fired a 3-over 219, her lowest 54-hole score of the season. Eliasson joined Misenhelter and Ragains in the top 20 last weekend in Arizona as she tied for 20th place at 4-over 220.
In addition to K-State, the field for the 2013 Briar’s Creek Invitational event will consist of Augusta State, Campbell, Central Florida, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, East Carolina, Furman, Georgetown, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Penn State, South Florida and Wisconsin.
